Well, a young single mother can get a grant and go to college free of cost - My daughter's friend got pregnant in high school, transferred to adult high, graduated early and went to college free with a grant for single parents as well as subsidized housing and a government check to help support her child, she made it all the way through college without having to work and without having to repay thousands in student loans. Most of her friends did not have babies, they graduated from High School, attempted college and just could not afford to support themselves and pay the high cost of college, most didn't make it very long. Just to hard to work full time, pay for the cost of college, books, tuition, housing and transportation and still maintain a high GPA. Most of these young ladies are smart but their parents are wealthy enough to send their children to college at $10,000 - $40,000 a year. So, hopefully these girls as single parents will have a better chance to attend college and do well, especially if they stick together and help each other out!
typo - meant most of their parents ARE NOT WEALTHY ENOUGH to send them to college
